As for the ping, if it's truly a "ping" sound, my first suspicion would be that you have a tube that's gone microphonic and needs to be replaced. This can easily happen to even new tubes if they are jarred the wrong way, especially if they are hot. The tube would be a 12AU7 (ECC82) type. Right now I'm using the Voce Midi Drawbars through a Midi Solutions Event Processor to a Nord Stage Compact. Nice to play with but a lot of Midi cabling.. When I use a 2nd controller (2nd manual) with the Nord,add a Midi Merge as well. Maybe incorporating a Merge on your Drawbar unit would be an idea. That would be nice.
